Task List for 4240

re wagner - 1/16/2005

4240 is a water hauling vehicle, it has no function to be performed at a fire scene other than fetching water and keeping the Porta Pond filled. It has other equipment and a pump but those all seem to be useless! Any equipment stored in 4240's equipment bays should be relocated to the primary trucks.

A note to any driver of 4240: Pulling 1000 gallons of water up a steep grade is just not in the cards for this truck unless you plan well ahead and have done some practice runs first. 1000 gallons of water is HEAVY! (A single gallon of water weighs 8.345404 lbs! I just looked it up!)

Tasks:

Locate incident scene

Determine route to incident

Radio dispatch indicating departure

Make sure the water tank is full.

Arrive at incident scene

Radio dispatch arriving at scene

Select location for Porta Pond, near the primary pumping truck

Don't block access for trucks and/or local folks to be able to exit in case of emergency!

Don't block access for trucks and/or local folks to be able to exit in case of emergency!

Dump Water into Porta Pond

Repeat till done!
